770 Miles Zinfandel 2020

770 Miles Zinfandel 2020

This week we go to the other side of the ocean for a Zinfandel (Primitivo) from California, USA. This 770 Miles is a 100% Zinfandel, but that’s about all the information we could find about it. The name 700 Miles, comes from the length of the state of California, but nothing is mentioned about the part of the state that this wine and its grapes are from.

Nonetheless, the Zinfandel grape, just like its old-world counterpart Primitivo is one of our favourites here among us GrapeDummies, so let’s taste it.

My notes:

This is an interesting Zinfandel, but reading some of the reviews I had expected it a little bit fuller of flavour. Don’t get me wrong, there are notes of plum, jam, strawberry and milk chocolate, but in the mouth, it’s thinner than I was hoping for. Further, there is some fig, pepper and cherry. I would rate this between 3,5 and 4,0 Grapes on our GrapeDummies Scale, though closer to 3,5.

GrapeDummies Score:

3,5 Grapes
