Argento Selección Malbec 2021

Argento Selección Malbec 2021

Time for a new fresh Malbec review. I bought this wine a few weeks ago on the recommendation of the wine merchant. I asked him for a Malbec

Of course, this Malbec is coming from the soils of Mendoza, Argentina. From the Winehouse of Bodega Argento. Bodega Argento is a relatively new player in the market, as they were founded in 1998. Next year they are celebrating their 25th anniversary. Since 2012 the bodega is in hands of a new owner, businessman Alejandro P. Bulgheroni. His mission is to take the bodega to a next level of wine experience.

My Notes:

My expectations were a little bit higher and couldn’t please me as a lot as other Malbecs I tasted. Maybe this wine has to lay for a couple of years to get a better taste profile. It’s a medium bold wine and near to dry. The tannins are definitely present. Lots of dark fruit, like blackberry and plum. Also oaky notes with vanilla and tobacco. For sure leather and little pepper. Medium-short finish. A little bit flat. As said the wine is maybe better in a couple of years. For now, I give it a 3.0 Grape Dummies Score!
