AT Roca Reserva 2018

AT Roca Reserva 2018

Today we have a Sparkling Wine from the Penedès region to share. This is the AT Roca Reserva 2018. The grapes harvested for this release come from 32 different plots all over the Penedès. In total there is 50% Macabeu, 30% Xarel·lo and 20% Parellada.

AT Roca is a relatively new company, founded in 2012. Focussing on the old vineyards of Penedès, they have been choosing the most singular and ideal lands for each of the local varieties that they’re using.

I’m always happy to try products from companies that focus on local grape varieties, so I’m very excited to try this sparkling wine!

My notes:

Interesting “Cava” style sparkling wine from Penedés. Full of pear, green apple, orange, rhubarb, honey and a touch of yeast. Some nutty notes with almonds, citrus and stone. Fresh, sweet, and a great acidity all come together. A bottle I will surely buy again, and I will also look for more expressions of this company! Highly recommended!
