Biscardo Oropasso Garganega Chardonnay IGT Veneto 2021

The Biscardo Neropasso was one of my first reviews when we started with the Grape Dummies. The Biscardo Neropasso is my favourite red wine and now I had the chance the try the white version of the Trilogia Biscardo wine, the Oropasso. They also have in this Trilogia a Rosapasso, a rosé version.
With over 150 years of experience in winemaking, the Biscardo family has its roots in wine. Their wines are known for their “drinkability” and excellent value for money. Located in the Soave region in Veneto, the brothers Mauricio and Martino today run the family business. The vineyards are located on a slightly permeable soil, with a mixture of clay, sand and silt. This wine is made just outside the Soave region and is made from Chardonnay and Garganega grapes. The technique of the ‘appassimento’ is also applied here. The grapes are placed in perforated boxes and left to dry in the ‘fruttaio’ (a large ventilated room). The drying process then takes several months. The fermentation lasts 15 days in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 13-14° C. After that, the wine is rested for at least 5 months on its yeast.

My Notes:
I think this wine can pair with a lot of dishes, like pasta, shellfish and so on. This wine can be everyone’s friend. Nice bold wine. Great taste with many tree fruits, like apple, peach and melon. Some citrus, grapefruit and pineapple. Little bit honey, a little bit buttery and good minerals. The Neropasso version is a little more favourite to me. Still, this is a great white wine. A deserved 4.0 Grape Dummies Score!
