Cabalié Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2018 – Tasting Journal
The first French wine that I review in our Tasting Journal comes from the Pays d’Oc. Cabalié is created by Hervé Sabardeil and made from a mix of Grenache (60%) and Carignan (40%) grapes from around the town of Maury in Roussillon in the south of France. This Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is made from old vines from 60 to 100 years old. The wine is crafted in the centuries-old style beloved by the Roman Centurions, and I’m curious to find out if this style is still loved nowadays.

My Notes:
Sweet and soft French wine. This is a dark fruit bomb. Full with plums, blackberries and blackcurrant. There are some cherries while it continues with a small hint of vanilla. You can tell this wine is crafted well. Using older vines it’s full with depth and full-bodied even though this is a young wine.
Highly recommendable if you’re looking for a fruity wine. I really enjoyed it and it’s great to see that the price is good as well. This wine will do great with roasted meat.

What says Vivino about this wine:
Cabalié is a blended wine of which we couldn’t find an exact vineyard. But it’s supposed to come from the town of Maury. If you know the exact address feel free to contact us.
