Can Sumoi Sumoll Garnatxa 2019

Can Sumoi Sumoll Garnatxa 2019

Can Sumoi Sumoll Garnatxa 2019 is our choice for the review this week. It’s not the first time I taste a wine from Can Sumoi, earlier this year I was able to taste their Xarel·lo, you can find that review here.

Like we mentioned in our review of the Xarel·lo, when starting Can Sumoi their owners from Raventós i Blanc said they want to focus on native, local grapes This wine is made with 50% Sumoll grapes, and 50% Garnatxa. The fermentation is for 15 days with their skins, after which the wine is first aged for 12 months in a stainless steel tank, followed for at least 6 months in the bottle.

Type: Red
Wine: Can Sumoi Sumoll Garnatxa 2019
Producer: Raventos i Blanc

Grape: Sumoll, Garnatxa
Colour: Medium Ruby

My notes:

50% Sumoll and 50% Garnatxa, what a great mix! The wine is full of red fruit, there is cherry, raspberry and strawberry, when the wine warms up a little bit more there are also notes of plum, cassis , leather and blueberry. A touch of mint, stone, milk chocolate and earthy notes. Some fig and raisin are also present. 13% ABV with a lovely mouth coating feeling. Highly recommendable!
