Cascina Lanzarotti Barbera d’Alba Superiore Püjina 2019

Cascina Lanzarotti is a winery in lower Piemonte, in the Roero area. Since 1883, Cascina Lanzarotti has been handed down from father to son. Generation after generation, the company passes on its values related to traditions. This is to bring authentic and territorial wines to life.

According to the company, they are able to offer high-quality wines. This is all thanks to careful and constant care in the vineyard, in the vinification followed with passion in every phase of production and then united by a deep and consolidated technical knowledge.

Barbera d’Alba Superiore Püjina is a red wine obtained from 100% Barbera grapes from a predominantly clayey terroir with percentages of sand, from vines with an average age of about 20 years. The vinification with maceration takes place in a traditional way, with the semi-submerged cap method for 10 days, and then the wine ages in partly new French oak barriques for 2-3 years.

My Notes:

A lot of dark fruit in the bouquet of this wine. Especially plum and blackberry. Also some cherry, further on notes of vanilla and chocolate. Smokey, with some earthy notes and spicy in the mouth. Tannins are definitely present. Medium body and medium length on the finish. Nice wine!

4.0 Grapes
