Cava Bertha S.XXI Gran Reserva 2007

Cava Bertha S.XXI Gran Reserva 2007

This week we like to share a special Cava with you all, the Cava Bertha S.XXI Gran Reserva 2007. I picked this bottle up last week to celebrate the birth of our second son. My wife loves Cava, and now that she finally was able to drink again after 9 months without alcohol, we decided to pick up something special to celebrate.

This Gran Reserva is made with the most common Cava grapes, Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada, as well as some 15% of Chardonnay. This 2007 vintage has matured for a long time until disgorging in November 2019, and now we’re wondering how this develops in the taste.

My Notes:

One of the best Cava’s I’ve tried up to now. Full of raisins, as well as brioche stone, pear, apple, yeast, vanilla and almonds. This Cava is produced with macabeo, xarel·lo, parellada and 15% of chardonnay. There is touch of lemon, honey and biscuit. A vintage 2007 that was disgorged in November 2019, and it shows this truly is a delicious Cava!
