Chapelle Paul Blanc Costières de Nîmes Rouge 2017
A wine that came in my hands, received as a relation gift on the business side. It’s always nice to get wine as this might give you the opportunity to look for some other styles than that you would be looking for, because of your tasting profile. The bottle wasn’t very heavy. When I poured it in the glass the first looks were promising.
Paul Blanc and his wife bought the estate in 1986 and restored it to its original appearance. In 1998, daughter Nathalie, an oenologist, took over the management of the estate. She improved the estate to modern techniques to allow the terroir of the estate to fully express itself. 20 years marked by the renovation of the vineyard, the modernization of the cellar, and commercial growth. Then in 2018, Cyril Marès has taken over the management of the estate. He changed the culture to organic farming. A real history of winemaking here.

My Notes:
Maybe expected a little more from the beginning, just an ok red for me. Needed a little more body. I even found this dry one high in acidity. Notes of stone fruit, blackberries, leather, a touch of tropical fruit, oaky and earthy notes. I doubt about 3.5 of 3.0 grape dummies score, but because my expectations were higher and it didn’t give me the right feeling, it becomes a 3.0 score.
