Clos Galena Secrets de Mar Negre 2019

Clos Galena Secrets de Mar Negre 2019

Last week we spent some time on the coast. In a local supermarket we found a nice red wine from the Terra Alta region, the Clos Galena Secrets de Mar (Secrets from the sea) which sounded like an interesting match for the paella we were planning to make on the beach.

This wine is made from Carinyena and Garnacha vines of over 30 years old. And spends 4 months in French oak barrels to mature.

Facts:

Type: Red
Wine: Clos Galena Secrets de Mar Negre 2019
Producer: Clos Galena
Region: Terra Alta, Spain
Grape: Carinyena, Garnatxa
Colour: Deep Purple
Price: €7,00

My notes:

I’m not sure if it was the backdrop of the blue Mediterranian, but this was a very nice red. Some pepper, plum, blackcurrant and cherry. Further chocolate, oak, leather and some licorace. A hint of minerals and blackberry.

Amazing with a good paella!
