Clos Montblanc Castell Negre 2021

This week we discover a small DO that many might not have heard from, the Conca de Barberà. It can be found roughly between the Priorat and Penedes regions in Spain. Today we try this young wine from Clos Montblanc, a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, which is matured for 2-3 months in oak barrels.

My notes:
This is a young Conca de Barberà, a small region in Catalonia. It’s still rough around the edges. There is licorice, plum, balsamic, dark chocolate, strawberry fennel, raisin and bitter almond. Interesting flavours developing, needing some time to develop.
