Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2018 – Tasting Journal
The Casillero del Diablo wines are popular all over the world. The wines of winemaker Concha y Toro are almost everywhere available for an affordable price. The winemaker has got a very strong business model and is one of the international leaders in the wine market. I never saw before that a winemaker is even a sponsor in the world of football, but the Casillero del Diablo are partners of one of the world biggest football clubs, Manchester United FC.
The Casillero del Diablo type is produced and bottled in the Central Valley area of Chili. The Cabernet Sauvignon version of this wine is the most famous one and earlier years are price winners in some occasions.

My Notes:
The wine on itself has got a lovely Deep Ruby colour. It’s a dry red, for myself maybe a little bit to dry. There are touches of oak, plum and chocolate in the nose. Further notes are blackberry and plum on the palate with medium tannins. The finish is a middle length finish.
This edition is not one of the better years I have tasted before from this type of wine and that’s why the score is not between 3.5 or 4.0 grapes but tends more to 3.0 grapes, but still, a good price-quality value when it’s in discount in the local supermarket. Hopefully, 2019 will be a better year for the winemakers of Casillero del Diablo.
