Conte di Campiano Laguna del Conte Bianco IGT Terre Siciliane 2019

Conte di Campiano Laguna del Conte Bianco IGT Terre Siciliane 2019

In this week’s review, we’re looking at a white wine from the feet of Italy. We’re traveling to Sicily and going to check out a white from Conte di Campiano. While searching on the internet about this wine and the vineyard I saw a great story about the founding of the name that I wanted to share.

The founding of the name Conte di Campiano is a legendary story. A long time ago a count from far away came in the Val Tramigna and went up to the mount Crocetta. There he was about to take a rest and sat down on a stone, at that moment he saw the beautiful landscape of Campiano. He fell in love with the place and decided to stay there. On that day he became the count of Campiano for the people living there. An interesting story isn’t it?

What a great price-quality this wine got! A nice balanced and round white wine. Notes of pear, pineapple, apricots, lemon, some hints of tropical fruits. Low on acidity and a little bit creamy. Nice length on the finish! I really enjoyed this wine!
