Feudo Croce Imperio LXXIV 2018

Feudo Croce Imperio LXXIV 2018

Last week Dennis mentioned in his review that he is a great fan of wines from the Primitivo grape, and that made me think to review a Primitivo this week. The Feudo Croce Imperio LXXIV is a 100% Primitivo di Manduria from the Tinazzi vineyards in Carosino. The wine is matured in 5-10 Hectolitre French Oak for around 8 to 12 months before being bottled.

This will be my second review of a wine from Puglia, a region I didn’t know much about, but also one that I start to enjoy more and more. Let’s see what I think of this release.

Type: Red
Wine: Feudo Croce Imperio LXXIV 2018
Producer: Tinazzi
Region: Puglia, Italy
Grape: Primitivo
Colour: Deep Purple
Price: €14,95
ABV: 14,5%

My notes:

Delicious and delicate Primitivo. Full of sweet fruits like plum, black cherry, prune, and raisins. Balanced out with leather, chocolate, tobacco, and a touch of pepper. Balsamic, fig, tomato, and some licorice. A hint of oak and smoke round it off. No disappointment here, this really is a great wine!

Grape Dummies Score:

4,5 Grapes.
