Gaumen Spiel Gewürztraminer 2020
In an earlier stage, we already made some reviews about a Gewürztraminer wine. This is my second review and I hope that this wine tasted as lovely as the earlier Gewürztraminer.
The Gaumen Spiel Gewürztraminer 2020 is a wine label of the Peter Mertes Weingut & Weinkeller group. They have got plenty of labels, which also include the famous Hugo. You can find the Peter Mertes Family Vineyards along the Mosel River in the Pfalz region in Germany. A wine region that is still growing these days. There are about 100 hectares of vineyards where the wine label of Peter Mertes is working on. They do this as it’s their mission to make wine accessible to people from all walks of life and to share their passion for wine with as many people as possible. Peter Mertes founded his vineyard in 1924, so almost 100 years ago.

My Notes:
The first thing that I notice, is that this wine has a relatively low alcohol percentage at only 10,5%. A beautiful pale yellow colour in the glass and you smell immediately some sweetness. You immediately recognize some tree fruits, like peach and pear. A beautiful taste of honey and further some citrus and lychee for a little sourness. Also, you feel a little bubble in the mouth. A nice bold and soft wine, with a nice sweetness. A pleasure to drink! A deserved 4.0 Grape Dummies Score!
