Laurenz V. Forbidden Grüner 2018

Laurenz V. Forbidden Grüner 2018

In an earlier stage, I already made a review about a Laurenz V. Grüner Veltliner, which you can read here. This week it’s time for a new Laurenz V. Grüner, the Forbidden one. It’s becoming my fourth review of a Grüner on the GrapeDummies website. So you could call the Grüner one of my favourite white grapes.

Here a little recap about the Laurenz V. winery, which we already made in the earlier review. The Laurenz V. winery is located in the Niederösterreich in Austria. The Lenz Moser family, are the winemakers and their name Laurenz V. comes from five (V) generations of winemaking experience. Their focus is just on a single wine variety, Grüner Veltliner, and has been a long favorite in Austria, where it represents almost a third of the country’s wine grape production. Grüner Veltliner is an upcoming popular grape in the wine world.

My Notes:

The second Grüner from Laurenz V. and also this is a nice Grüner. Not as fresh but sweeter than the earlier Singing Grüner. Beautiful wine. Notes of apple, pear and abricot. Further some citrus and because of the sweetness I tasted honey, hint of marmelade and a little bit buttery. Pleasant wine, also with the sushi. Good in balance and a nice length on the finish. A nice 4.0 grapedummies score! Enjoy!

Grape Dummies Score:

4.0 grapes
