Legendary Estate Series Sauvignon Blanc 2019

This wine came into my cellar when I was asked if I wanted to order a wine package for a charity. I think this is my first wine from Romania and I didn’t even know that Romania was a country where they made wine. I’m very curious about this wine.
As said this wine is coming from Romania, from the Cramele Recas winery. The winery was founded in 1447 and is still active today. There drive is to represent a modern and dynamic company in full evolution. They see every day as a competition, where only the winners matter. Cramele wants to convince people that their products mean quality and innovation. As they say: our belief is that wine must bring satisfaction and achievements, feelings and emotions.
The wine is 100% handpicked and quickly transported to the winery, where it was destemmed and crushed. Immediately cooled to 8 degrees. The grapes were then pressed in a vacuum press under nitrogen to prevent oxidation, before being transferred to decantation tanks for 24 hours until completely clarified. The wine was fermented in stainless steel at very low temperatures between 8 and 10 degrees for 25 days, before clarification and bottling young.

My Notes:
So here are my findings about my first Romanian wine. It’s a light bodied dry wine. You immediately taste some tree fruits liek peach and green apple. The citrus fruits are also present in the foreground, like lemon and passion fruit. Futher some earthy touches and a good on the acidity. It’s a fresh and light wine that is nice to drink. A nice 3.5 Grape Dummies Score for this wine.
