Leth Duett Riesling & Veltliner 2020

Leth Duett Riesling & Veltliner 2020

Earlier on we already made reviews of Riesling wines or Grüner Veltliner wines. Mostly very fine wines from these grapes and when I saw this combination wine. I thought let’s order this wine on Vivino and give it a go.

Weingut Leth was founded by Franz and Barbara Letz in 1960. In the early beginning, the winery only produced for the local market. In 1981 when their son Franz became the new owner of the winery, they made the next step. Franz invested, innovated and made winery Leth a commercial enterprise. He made Weingut Leth one of the leading and most valued wineries in Austria. The interesting point is that no pesticides have been used for more than 25 years. Weingut Leth is currently run by the third generation and has continued their father’s line by expanding their wines far across the border.

My Notes:

This is a nice light and fresh wine. It’s a dry wine, but for me a little bit flat. No overwhelming flavours, but the flavours I noticed are pear, citrus, apple, a little bit of lime and good on the minerals. Medium short length on the finish. For me a nice 3.5 Grape Dummies Score. Enjoy!
