Maestro Italiano Gran Maestro Primitivo di Manduria DOC 2018

This time the last review in the series of three from Maestro Italiano. This thime it’s the Maestro Italiano Gran Maestro Primitivo di Manduria DOC 2018. In the earlier two reviews, we made about Gran Maestro we both gave them a Grapedummies score of 3.5 grapes. So it’s interesting to see what our last wine is going to give us as a score.

We already wrote two times about the Cielo winery which is based in Italy in the region of Puglia. Let’s have a look at what is written on the bottle: “With the support of renowned Apulian winemaker Beppe, we decided to challenge the king of Apulian wines. The denomination of controlled origin was created in 1998 to increase uniqueness and valorization of the Manduria Primitivo.”

My Notes:

Based on the reviews I read this should be the top wine of the three we reviewed. As written earlier Primitivo is becoming a favourite grape of my palate. This Primitivo wine was for me not as fully riped as I used to of my latest Primitivo wines. This wine got some earthy notes, leather, smoke, cherry, plum, and a little pepper. Medium length on the finish. I expected more of this one, but also this wine gets a 3.5 grapedummies score.

Grape Dummies Score:

3.5 Grapes
