Malcaracter Tempranillo 2018
Last year I received this wine as an End-of-the-year gift from one of my contacts. Giving wine at the end of the year is some sort of a tradition in the Netherlands. Sometimes you’re happy with the wine and sometimes you think, well yeah let’s not say what I think.
Malcaracter winery is located in the Ribera del Duero region in Spain and producing their wines, without airs and graces. They want to honour the unknown Castilian winegrower of centuries past and their character, something their very proud of. The harvest is manual, the fermentation is spontaneous, and it is carried out with indigenous yeasts. The wines are made following the most traditional processes and handmade methods and off coursed aged in oak barrels.

My Notes:
A common red wine with a nice deep ruby colour in the glass. It’s not necessary to have a party or a special evening. Just open this wine and you get worth for your money. Especially if you read about the Malcaracter project, they take you on a journey. That’s why I give this wine a 4.0 grapes score. In this wine, you’ll find a lot a red cherry, figs, blackberry, some vanilla and a little bit spicy. Nice balance and good length on the finish. As said an easy to drink wine. Enjoy!
