Marqués de Peñamonte Colección Privada 2014
This week we go back to the Toro wine region in Spain, which can be found in the Douro river valley. I will try the Marqués de Peñamonte Colección Privada 2014. The wine is made with grapes from old Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) vines. The wine is then matured for 20 months in new French oak barrels. I often really enjoyed the well matured Tempranillo wines from the Rioja, Ribera del Duero en Toro regions in Spain. So let’s see what we get today.

My Notes:
100% Tinta de Toro from the Toro DO. Loads of plum, black cherry as well as some red cherry. A touch of vanilla and pepper from the maturation in oak. A touch of cedar, tobacco, leather, milk chocolate, prune, and raisins. All noted that I really enjoy in my wines, this is a delicious and well-matured wine from Toro! We recommend it.
