Montemajor Quattronotti 2017

Montemajor Quattronotti 2017

The Giro d’Italia is finishing this week so we thought it would be nice to highlight an Italian wine today. In this review, I will take a look at the Montemajor Quattronotti 2017 from the Puglia region in the south of Italy, a region the cyclist passed through earlier this race.

This Negroamaro from the Puglia region gets is name because of the way it’s harvested. The grapes are manually picked at night to avoid any further touch of sunlight. Further, the wine is matured in steel tanks before being bottled.

My Notes:

Delicious wine from the Puglia region, plum, blackberry, licorice and a hint of pepper are accompanied by jam, cherry, vanilla and strawberry. Further there are more dark fruits with blueberry and blackcurrant. A touch of raisins and brown sugar. This negroamaro fits perfectly into my style of wines! Recommendable.

4,5 Grapes
