Pères de l’Église Le Calice de Saint Pierre Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017
My dad and I both added this Châteauneuf-du-Pape a while ago in our cellar. My dad is a huge fan of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape blend wines. That’s why he keeps on buying regularly new ones when he sees one online or in the store. The actual plan was to let it lay for a few more years, but as you can see, that didn’t happen.
The Domaine des Pères de l’Église has been run by four generations of winegrowers. For more than two centuries their passion has been the ground, as they say at the Domaine: “The wine is first the grape”. To make this Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine, the vine-growers are using the conditions that been made in 1933 for making a Châteauneuf-du-Pape and that’s why they can always guarantee the quality of this special blend.

My Notes:
Domaine des Pères de l’Église really honours the blend of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, what a fantastic wine this is. Great flavours. A nice full-bodied wine which lays well balanced in the mouth. A lot of red fruits, plum, leather, tobacco, some dried fruit and a little pepper. A tribute!
