Peter Mertes Gold Edition Riesling Kabinett 2018
The weather is getting warmer, which means a lot of people start to appreciate white wines more. Today I like to share with you the Peter Mertes Gold Edition Riesling Kabinett 2018, a Riesling from the Mosel region in Germany.
Peter Mertes established the winery in 1924 with as a goal promoting regional wines of superior quality from the Mosel region. Now the family vineyards have nearly 100 hectares full of grapes. This tradition started in the 1920’s, is now continued under their Gold Edition line. Riesling is the flagship variety of this winery but they also cultivate other varietals such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and many more!

My notes:
Nice sweet Riesling from the Mosel. Full with apples, some lime and jasmine. I get beeswax, honey, and more green apples. There is some peach and straw. In general, I’m not a huge white wine enthusiast, but this one was lovely! Great to drink chilled when it’s getting warmer.
