Piccini Collezione Oro Chianti Riserva 2019
On our yearly summer break, we go camping with the family. Camping life is more primitive and that’s why you see a different wine glass in the picture. We decided to prepare a pasta bolognese and therefore I would like to search for a Chianti wine. I like Chianti wines with Italian food.
This Chianti wine comes from the winery of Tenute Piccini. The history of Piccini goes back to 1882, when Angiola Piccini started with the production of Chianti wines with 7 hectares of vineyard. Nowadays the winery is owned by Mario Piccini and got five wine estates through Tuscany, Sicily and Basilicata.
The Chianti Riserva that we’re going to review today, is a wine that combined Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese grapes.

My Notes:
What a great combination, pasta with Chianti. It definitely worked, even when it wasn’t the right glass and on the camping. A wine with a lot of juicy red fruit, like cherry and raspberry. A bold wine that was nice in balance, good on acidity and soft tannins. Further notes of tobacco and clove. Plum, leather and a little pepper. I even found it a little bit jammy. A well-deserved 4.0 Grape Dummies Score.
