Ponte Lungo Governo Toscana 2017

Ponte Lungo Governo Toscana 2017

Once I filled in the filter on the Vivino app, so that only wines emerged that should fit my tasting profile. One of these wines was this Punto Lungo Governo Toscana 2017. It’s looked nice to me and also the price was nice. So I ordered this wine and was wondering what this one should bring.

Punte Lungo is created, in the Tuscany region of Italy. Governo is a vinification method that has traditionally been used for the young chianti. Some of the grapes are dried and fermented independently, after which this must is added to the young and often sour wine to give it some fullness and sweetness. It has also been successful here.

My Notes:

After tasting a wine from Ponte Lungo earlier, (look here for the tasting journal), I was excited to try this one. And this is also a good wine. A beautiful medium ruby colour. Oaky, some lovely fruits like plum, cherries and raspberries. A well-balanced wine with a medium length on the finish. Nice to try and to taste. Enjoy!
