Puklavec & Friends Sauvignon Blanc & Pinot Grigio 2018

Puklavec & Friends Sauvignon Blanc & Pinot Grigio 2018

We had some plans to have a sushi dinner, again, and therefore I was looking for a matching wine. Although their where several tips on the internet for me it was difficult to choose, which one is the best. I haven’t got a lot of sushi in combination with wine experience. So it is trying and trying to find out what fits well. And that’s always a good thing, try and find out what you like, because everyone’s taste is different. That’s why I will taste this time the Puklavec & Friends Sauvignon Blanc & Pinot Grigio 2018.

The history of the Puklavec wines goes back to 1934 in Slovenia. Founder Martin Puklavec’s vision of making the finest wines together is still the philosophy of the winery these days and are driven by the core values of hard work, passion and of course dedication to quality. The wines are made in the Podravje region, in the North-Eastern part of Slovenia. The microclimate condition here is perfect for the grapes.

My Notes:

So we had this wine with a sushi dinner. The wine was not too overwhelming in combination with the sushi, but a nice companion. So it didn’t disappoint me. There were notes of tropical fruit, apple, melon, citrus and lemon. As I must say it was a just ok wine for me with a half star extra because of the price, 5 euro in our local supermarket.

Grape Dummies Score:

3.5 grapes
