Raventós i Blanc De La Finca 2016

For this week’s review, I’ve chosen the Raventós i Blanc De La Finca 2016. Today, Friday, May 28th we have a visit scheduled at this winery, so if you want to see more of this winery after reading this review, I recommend you to check out or Instagram, where I will try to post some stories of the visit.

The De La Finca Sparkling wine is made with grapes from the oldest vines planted in 1964. the Vinya dels Fòssils vineyard has marine soils with a high fossil content. This characterizes the structure and the soil composition of this vineyard.

The wine is made with 60% Xarel·lo: Harvested after 30th of August, 30% Macabeu: Harvested after 24th of August, and 10% Parellada: Harvested after 5th September.

My notes:

Delicious sparkling wine! This “De la Finca” is very fizzy from the start, I get almond, yeast, green apple, and brioche. A touch of lemon, stone, and minerals. Lovely straw and fennel notes as well. More citrus fruits and pear complete the palate. Highly recommendable!
