Stern Grauer Burgunder vom Lösslehm 2017 – Tasting Journal

Went off for a dinner to a restaurant which is attended in de Top-100 list of best restaurants in the Netherlands, Restaurant de Boet. In the restaurant, we choose our dishes for the evening and the starter was a tuna with coquilles. Our eyes felt immediately on this white wine to combine with our starters dish and what a great choice it was.

The Stern Grauer Burgunder vom Lösslehm 2017 is a white wine from German ground. The vineyards around Hochstadt in the region Pfalz from Stern are characterized by limestone, variegated and sandy loam soils. In the processing tradition and technology are combined in the wine cellar. Afterwards, the wine gets their flavours back because of a gentle way of ageing and long yeast storage. They do without great technology and treatment materials because Stern says: “Quality is created in the vineyard!”

My Notes:

What a hero! Such a lovely white wine this was. A fantastic pale gold colour showed up in front of us and then that smell and taste, just great. Notes of pear, melon and vanilla and a lovely body and very well balanced taste in the mouth. Very creamy white! Definitely going to order a bottle of this superb white wine!

4,5 Grapes
