Tilia Malbec 2018
It’s the 17th of April and that means it’s World Malbec Day. So on this day we need to review a wine that is produced of 100% Malbec grapes. The wine we are going to review is the Tilia Malbec 2018 from the Mendoza region in Argentina.
The Tilia Malbec is produced by Bodegas Esmeralda and the winemaker is Leopoldo Kuschnaroff. Tilia is the Latin name for Linden, which is a national tree in Mendoza. The flowers of the tree are used to make a relaxing herbal tea, ideal after a long day work among the vines. The Tilia Malbec is sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards in the Eastern and Southern regions of Mendoza.

My Notes:
This was my first Malbec and I was satisfied with it. A nice medium purple look in the glass and some notes of tobacco, smoke and vanilla. A lot of red plum and further blackberries, some black cherry and bit of spiciness, like black pepper. A nice balance with a medium-length finish. I will definitely try more of the Malbec grape because it felt pleasant. Enjoy your World Malbec Day!
