Vallepicciola Chianti Classico DOCG 2015

Vallepicciola Chianti Classico DOCG 2015

This red wine I received this Chianti as a gift for my birthday a little while ago. A wine that isn’t very fast to find online here in the Netherlands as I saw on the internet. So really looked forward to try this wine.

The Vallepicciola vineyard is placed in the beautiful region of Tuscany in Italy. It lays about 20 kilometres on the eastern side of Siena. An area where a lot of Chianti Classico wines are produced. The hilly areas are rich in clay, limestone and stone pebbles to produce rich quality grapes. As the most vineyards, they use modern cellar techniques to create a range of wines with strong character and elegance.

My Notes:

What a great wine! One of the best Chianti’s I ever had. A rich and full-bodied Chianti. A rich bouquet of flavours like cherry, blackberry, plum, tobacco, some earthy and oaky notes, a nice hint of vanilla and a little hint of pepper. Some smooth nice tannins and a great length on the finish. What a terrific wine.
