Vigneti del Vulture Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture 2018

I can’t say that I ever had a wine from this region in Italy and even with this grape. The grape Aglianico is a grape I never heard of before. My favourite grape in Italy is the Primitivo and this also becoming more and more my favourite overall grape. I saw this one when I was searching over Vivino and got interested after reading some reviews. A good-looking wine from the outside with a medium-heavy bottle.

Vigneti del Vulture is a part of the Fantini Group Farnese. This group is offering wines from a lot of vineyards in the Italian country. The wine of today is from the Basilicata region in the South of Italy. The Fantini Group was founded by three partners in 1994. They were called the three dreamers because they made the impossible possible. They created a flagship in the South of Italy without having much money nor vineyards but with a highly innovative business model. And so they created the largest Boutique Winery of Italy.

My Notes:

A nice bold wine with a smooth taste. Some nice tears in the glass. Lovely taste and well balanced in the mouth. Some oaky notes like vanilla and chocolate, further plum, blackberry, some ripe cherries, a bit of prune, earthy tones, and a little pepper. Soft in the mouth and a good long length on the finish. Very good wine, especially for this price. A great 4.0 grapedummies score for this Vigneti del Vulture wine! Keep up the good work!
