Villa Wolf Gewürztraminer 2018
Today I will review the Villa Wolf Gewürztraminer 2018. It was time for ordering some new bottles of wine from Vivino and in this time of quarantine for the Corona pandemic, we think you have to take the opportunity to enjoy every little moment, when possible. One of these moments was pouring a (hopefully) good glass of wine and some apperatives on a Sunday early afternoon in the shining sun. I’m honest to say that I’m looking for the best-reviewed wines for an acceptable price of around €10,-, when I’m going to make an order on Vivino. Exploring new wine and then hoping that it will fit my taste.
Villa Wolf is producing their wines in the Pfalz region of our neighbour country Germany and the winemaker is Ernst Loosen. He took over the control of Villa Wolf in the mid-’90s, to make Villa Wolf great again. Villa Wolf lost their reputation of making great wines, but according to the experts he succeeded as Ernst Loosen was named Germany’s Winemaker of the Year in the 2001 edition of Gault Millau’s Weinguide Deutschland and Decanter magazine’s Man of the Year in 2005.

My Notes:
It is my first Gewürztraminer and I really enjoyed this one. The wine has got a little bubble and is a explosion of fruits. The notes I recognized are lychee, peach, some tropical fruits, pineapple, melon and also some honey. Definitely worth trying and worth buying again. Cheers!
