Western Cellars California Red Zinfandel 2019

Western Cellars California Red Zinfandel 2019

Today we’re in the United States of America and if I can remember I think this will be my first wine from America. A couple of times people recommended me to take a Zinfandel because this is the American counterpart of the Primitivo grape. That grape is one of my favourites. Further, if you look at the picture you can see that I have got a special bottle number.

There is not much to find about the winehouse of Western Cellars. The only thing that I can find is that the Western Cellars California Red Zinfandel 2019 comes from Lodi, California. Lodi is a wine region in California, of which they say that it is one of the most amazing wine regions in California. Lodi is located between San Francisco Bay and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Lodi has a classic Mediterranean climate whith warm days and very cool nights.

My Notes:

Zinfandel! Definitely, I will try some more wines of this grape. I am glad that I took over the advice that people noticed me about. A nice bold but smooth wine with soft tannins. A very nice palate of flavours came to me with notes of cherry, plum, leather, cranberry, maybe a little jammy, some hints of chocolate, and a slight touch of pepper. Medium balanced length on the finish. I was pleased by the price-quality of this wine.
