Emilio Moro Vendimia Seleccionada 2017

Emilio Moro Vendimia Seleccionada 2017

After focusing on the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, we will take a look this week at the Vuelta a España. Today the route starts nearby one of my most favourite wine regions, the Ribera del Duero. I selected this Emilio Moro Vendimia Selection from 2017.

This is not the first Emilio Moro release on our website, we also reviewed the standard Emilio Moro. Feel free to read this review here.

This Vendimia Seleccionada is created with 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes from the clay soil of the small Camino Viejo (old road) estate. The wine is matured in French Oak casks.

My notes:

Great Ribera del Duero, full with plum, blackberry, a hint of vanilla, pepper and tobacco. The wine is matured in French oak, and further notes are fig, licorice, coffee, cedar and chocolate. Loads of black fruit, with cassis and bramble. The wine brought me back to a campfire, there is blackcurrant and a touch of balsamic. Highly recommendable!

Grape Dummies Score:

4,5 Grapes
